DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Biochemistry was established in 2016 under the Institute of Life Sciences, Gulab Devi Educational Complex (GDEC), Lahore. The Biochemistry department has highly qualified faculty members, a beautifully constructed building, library facility, and well-equipped teaching and research laboratories that make it a state-of-the-art department. The academic program offered at the department is designed to meet the needs of well-trained manpower to serve the education, health, agriculture, environment, and industrial sectors of the country.

To make the Department a Center of Excellence in the field of Biochemistry, that fosters scientific ideas and skills, to enhance the quality of life with a better education and cutting-edge research.

To promote a creative and innovative study environment for the intellectual and career development of our students so that they become responsible contributor of the society. To enhance the understanding of human health by focusing on the scientific disciplines such as Human Biochemistry, Medical Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The program will benefit the society overall by adding the highly skilled scientific workforce, particularly in the biomedical research, academia, industry and research laboratories across the country and the globe.
