Program Objectives

The program educational objectives of the BS 4-year Human Nutrition and Dietetics program are to:

  • Analyze, synthesize, and assess scientific literature to make ethical, evidence-based practice decisions regarding nutrition and healthcare.
  • Equip graduates with a strong foundation in the basic sciences, as well as research and the practical application of knowledge in the fields of nutrition, food science, and management areas.

Learning Outcomes

The outcomes of the BS 4 years in Human Nutrition & Dietetics are to:

  1. Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of nutritious diets and their role in preventing and managing diseases.
  2. Apply meal planning principles to create well-balanced and suitable meals, keeping in mind the nutritional needs and requirements, family budget and dietary preferences of various age groups.
  3. Demonstrate and display counseling and communication competencies suitable for entry-level professional practice.
  4. Inculcate professional attributes and built a portfolio tailored to serve in diverse professional and community organizations.
  5. Adhere to the principles supported and upheld by the dietetics practice governance.
  6. Increase the awareness of potential interactions between drugs and nutrients and their influence on clinical outcomes.
  7. Gain hands-on experience in crafting effective research proposals for thesis and projects.

  • Public Health Nutritionist:Promoting community health through nutrition education, program development, and policy-making initiatives in health departments and school health & nutrition programs.
